Louise Bell trial to resume as ‘founding father of DNA’ prepares to give evidence

10 yr old Louise BellThe Louise Bell historic murder trial has resumed in South Australia with “one of the founding fathers of DNA internationally” to give evidence this week.
Louise vanished from her Hackham West bedroom, southern Adelaide, in January 1983 and her body has never been found.

Head of Richland sheriff’s crime lab retires, new director named

GARVIN IN LABCOLUMBIA, SC After 15 years of behind-the-scenes crime solving, the director of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s vaunted forensic crime laboratory retired Friday.
Demi Garvin, who established the sheriff’s lab in 2000 and guided its expansion, is replaced as lab director by Grayson Amick. Amick has worked in the lab for 11 years after working for more than a decade at the State Law Enforcement Division.
