RapidHit Human DNA Identification System helps Sheriff’s Department get criminals off the streets

DNA HelixSheriff Leon Lott announced an arrest using the RapidHit Human DNA Identification System to identify Brandon Berry ( DOB: 01/ 30/ 1991); charged with attempted murder and armed robbery. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is the first law enforcement agency in the United States using this technology, which can generate profiles in 90 minutes. This is an important new crime fighting tool when it comes to saving time, money, and manpower and is the future of DNA analysis. This piece of equipment would have cost the department $200,000 but it was given to the Sheriff ’s Department based on the excellence of its forensics lab.
