Idaho on target to finish DNA database backlog project by July

ISP sampleThe Idaho State Police said its Forensic Services laboratories expect to finish entering the backlog of DNA samples into the National DNA Index System database by July. That means there will be more than 15,000 samples from the State of Idaho in NDIS, which is the database for the Combined DNA Index System (commonly known as CODIS). As of Tuesday, there were 12,427 Idaho samples in the national database, a 306% increase from the number of samples in 2010.
