Backlog expanding, still no green light for new crime lab

Forensic Science Laboratory to expedite rape, sexual assault probes

sole DNAMUMBAI: Kalina’s Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been directed by the state to expedite all investigations pertaining to rape and sexual assault and clear the backlog within three to four months. The six state laboratories, which are already reeling under a huge pendency of cases, have to finish 3,500-odd cases of sexual assault.
