Md. Court of Appeals decision makes it harder to use DNA evidence


BALTIMORE, MD — Maryland’s highest court last week created an evidentiary obstacle to the use of DNA evidence, according to Brian S. Kleinbord of the state attorney general’s office, but the U.S. Supreme Court could soon knock it down.

DNA collection procedures in Pa. could soon change


HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania’s law that governs the collection of DNA may soon get its first overhaul since it was established 16 years ago, but some are voicing concerns about the proposal’s effect on civil liberties as well as the cost to taxpayers.
